first I draw the image in ink (because pencils are for wussies, WUSSIES!) and scan it at 575 DPI. this image came out at 4576 pixels by 4064 pixels and by reducing width and height each by 20% I made it 916 by 813. however you will not want to reduce your image yet, I only did so for this sample
