Snow Smack Rust Monger the Grave
Regardless of what era it is there are always people who are smarter, more educated, and more logical than the average. One such man died circa 500 B.C.E. and his brilliant soul was transferred to a new breed of undead that would later be named the "technician". These undead entities were charged with designing and implementing devices to aid all Underworlders either in general or specifically for the continuous conflict between the undead's compassionate allies the Forces of Darkness and the sadistic and destructive Forces of Light.

That genius technician became well-respected in a very short time as he designed and engaged a battle-plan which won a great victory for the Underworld. He was elected as the leader of his breed and chief military tactician.

For centuaries he lead the undead to countless victories in the Underworld, but Light always managed to keep coming back thanks to their vast human resources. You see, Light had deceived mankind and lead humanity to believe that in Light there is salvation and in Darkness death. The fear of mortality and the charismatic and sophist speeches of the Light quickly swayed the majority of the human race to pledge themselves unquestioningly to combat Darkness. In an attempt to reverse this deception the Forces of Darkness placed their most compassionate teacher's soul into the body of a chosen mortal. Light countered by placing a soul of their own in the body of Darkness's chosen's cousin, and through him they were able to manipulate Darkness's chosen. Seeing this as a learning experience and not as a failure Darkness decided to continuously reuse their chosen soul again and again in the hopes that one day the right message may find its way to humanity's ears, undiluted and uncorrupted. So thousands of years passed and the chosen of Darkness was always countered by the chosen of Light.

Eventually Peter Damian Schwrteze-Temnota became the Chosen Warrior of Darkness . . . and his wife was the Chosen of Light. Through the aid of VileTerror (a powerful, though somewhat insane undead magus) several events took place which had never occured before. The Chosen Soul of Light was placed in an Iek'Eh formed from the body of Cynthia Schwrteze-Temnota (Peter's wife). This is a big "no-no" when it comes to creating loyal, fresh-minded troops in the afterlife. When a soul re-enters its original body, the soul permanently regains all its old memories. Cynthia blamed her husband for her death and after dubbing herself Cynic she waged a bloody war like no other before. Conflicts errupted in the three planes and there was much turmoil in the Nether Realms. Cynic nearly had the entire world in her grasp but through the combined efforts of the Undead and the Forces of Darkness, Cynic was defeated.

Just prior to the final battle between Cynic and The Chosen Warrior of Darkness, Rust Monger finally met Mrak. She was the ex-daughter of the Chosen Warrior, and perhaps the only one who could keep up with Rust when he went on a theory binge.

It was also about time when the Rikti invaded earth. With humanity engulfed in its own conflict, it did much to mask the battles between Light and Dark. Eventually Darkness triumphed and a semblance of peace was established between the Overworld and Underworld.

Certainly his existence had been extremely eventful up to this point, but only after meeting Mrak did he finally take the first step to realizing her unknown dreams.

Rust Monger assisted in the final defeat of Cynic and then returned to Mrak. Together they built new bodies for one another and decided to assist humanity. They were practically inseparable, one might even say they fell in love, though they would both deny it. They taught the living much about the technology the Underworld had created and it helped greatly to restore decent living conditions on earth.

It then suddenly dawned on Mrak that even though helping the weak and abused felt rewarding it was not her passion. She felt drawn away, as if she had to go out and explore. Mrak told Rust Monger she was going. He plead with her, begged her to stay with him. Yet she always wanted to explore and discover, even as a little girl. She said goodbye, he cried for the first time.

Story as it appears in-game:
Rust Monger the Grave was the most feared and respected Underworld technician, and technically still is today. However, after the defeat of Cynic, he and Mrak fell in love (though neither would confess to it) and he gave up his military prestige to be with her. After they built two new bodies for each other Mrak decided she wanted to go out and explore. This was a problem for Rust Monger as he had many responsibilities, including helping humanity repair its now decimated civilizations. Mrak and Rust Monger parted ways, and he’s never been the same since. He’s now listless and apathetic, existing without meaning. Rust Monger has adopted a passive nihilistic life philosophy, but still fights the battles he always has. During his stupor, he exposed himself to a virulent organic compound from a lab experiment. This semi-life form consumes any living organic matter that may find its way on or into Rust Monger, and oddly supplements his power reactor by an incredible amount.
