Snow Smack VileTerror
The Underworld is populated by three societies. The Underworld Humans are like the humans of the surface world, but they have adapted to life underground. Necromancy is an important part of their life both religiously and politically. The Forces of Darkness are entities older than the earth who existed in a more rudimentary form prior to the beginning of known existance. And the Undead are entities who are not alive but possess souls and intellect.

Leading these Undead in the most subtle manners are the Magi, the eldest and most powerful Undead. They are relatively apathetic to all things except the enforcement of their most sacred laws. In the early times before humanity had developed societies the Magi tried to propagate their species. Since they felt they were superior to all other undead and that a bridge was needed to close the gap between their might and the rest of the undead they decided to imbue their progeny with the spiritual energy of imps. This proved to be a mistake as these new Magi proved to be just as bullheaded and proclaimed themselves superior to their creators. These new Magi were lead by the first, Magarto, and they broke the highest law and attempted to interfere with humanity. As it was also law that new undead may destroy another undead the original Magi were at a loss as to what to do. After the betrayal of Magarto they made one final attempt to reproduce. This final offspring was VileTerror.

Unlike Magarto who imbued himself with spiritual energy of other undead to make itself more powerful, VileTerror actually sifted through its own being and removed that which was impious in it. Though this assured VileTerror to forever be loyal to its parents, the original Magi found it insulting and regarded VileTerror as a being lesser than the traitors.

Eventually the newer Magi, now called Warlocks (Oathbreakers), settled down and stopped interfering with humanity. They quickly grew bored and attempted to create new species of undead by combining spiritual energies from the 5 basic undead species, the Magi, and the three dead species of the Underworld. The Warlocks succeeded and produced countless new entities. Though many were loyal to the law of the original Magi, some of the new species, like Devils, decided themselves superior to all. The Devils saw humanity as puppets and manipulated them without care for the repercussions. Humanity learnt to fear the Devils, and due to the Devils' mighty egos, humanity believed them to be the most powerful entities of the Underworld. Entire religions were changed and created because of this lie, and even to this day most of humanity is unaware of the Devils' clever deceptions.

Throughout these events the original Magi grew sad. They knew that in humanity lay the ultimate survival of the Undead, but if the Devils continued to make humanity fear and loathe the Undead then their chances for survival would disappear. This is when VileTerror approached the Magi and proposed an unthinkable concept: place VileTerror's soul within a mortal body and through it attempt to teach humanity of its folly.

The Magi never believed the plan would work, but granted VileTerror the opportunity to prove them wrong.

A suitable host was chosen and VileTerror's soul was blended into it. The original, young soul within the body was either destroyed or absorbed by VileTerror's and after a few years VileTerror had gained a great deal of control over the body. However, there was a snag. Other souls had also claimed the body as their refuge, including the soul of an entity which existed as pure sexual malice. These other souls "corrupted" VileTerror, but the ideals and principles that VileTerror held dear still stood strong. With these other voices in its head, VileTerror become insane.

This didn't stop VileTerror from attempting to do its sacred task. It preached the Truth about the Underworld and the Undead. Some mortals listened, and in them lies the hope of the Magi that all future generations of humanity may come to know of the Devils' greatest lie.

Eventually VileTerror's body died and it was revived as its former undead self. However, it's soul was still "contaminated" by the other souls it had shared its previous existance with. VileTerror shifted these selves from itself and gave them each their own form.

VileTerror made two additional bodies as well. The first was imbued with the powerful energy of demons, the second the peurile energgies of imps. VileTerror dubbed these two new bodies ArchVileTerror and ImpousVileTerror.

Now VileTerror has come to Paragon City to continue its teachings. It is still hopeful that humanity might learn to trust the Undead . . . in time.

Story as it appears in-game:
VileTerror created a duplicate of itself and imbued the shell with the brute strength of demons. When in need of a powerful body, VileTerror may manipulate this form like a puppet or simply transfer its soul. ArchVileTerror was given just enough intelligence to avoid waltzing into certain destruction. Also, ArchVileTerror has no soul of its own.
